In common envelope evolution, the ultimate unbinding of the envelope during the plunge-in phase involves complex and poorly understood physical processes that may give rise to luminous red novae. In this talk, I will introduce a one-dimensional radiation hydrodynamic model of common envelope ejecta that is evolved by the code Guangqi. I will discuss the important roles of radiation and gas pressures in some envelope unbinding processes. The model is accurate enough to model the light curves of LRNe and other transients, for example, AT2019zhd. In the era of LSST, a fast and accurate forward model can help us better understand the origin and outcomes of CEE. It may also be a useful tool to constrain the alpha parameter in CEE.

报告人简介:

Chen Zhuo is now an associate research professor in IASTU at Tsinghua University. He graduated from the University Rochester in 2018 with a Ph.D. degree. Zhuo's research interests include radiation hydrodynamics, planet formation, stellar evolution, and high-performance computing.
