报告摘要:

M87 hosts the nearest supermassive black hole launching a powerful relativistic jet, making it an ideal laboratory for probing accretion and jet physics with VLBI from event-horizon to parsec scales. Over the past two decades, high-resolution observations have revealed pronounced structural variability in the M87 system, including geometric changes in the inner jet and evolution of jet morphology across milliarcsecond scales. In this talk, I will present recent progress from multi-scale VLBI monitoring of M87, highlighting how long-term observations enable us to connect microarcsecond-scale structures near the black hole to the milliarcsecond-scale jet evolution. By linking variability across these scales, we can investigate the physical coupling between the black hole spin, accretion flow, and jet geometry, and assess how time-dependent processes imprint on the observed jet structure. I will conclude with prospects for future coordinated multi-frequency VLBI campaigns and time-domain strategies, and discuss how M87 can serve as a benchmark source for understanding black hole–driven jets in nearby AGN.
