报告摘要:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Integral field spectroscopy provides a powerful way to study the spatially resolved properties of galaxies, including stellar populations, ionized gas, chemical abundances, and kinematics. In this talk, I will introduce our efforts to develop a continuous capability in spatially resolved spectroscopy through three complementary instruments: CHILI on the Lijiang 2.4-m Telescope, the Integral Field Spectrograph aboard the China Space Station Telescope (CSST-IFS), and CUBWISE, a proposed wide-field, blue-optimized IFS for the 14.5-m telescope.
I will focus on several science applications enabled by their different observational strengths. CHILI provides a flexible platform for nearby-galaxy studies of star-forming regions, chemical abundance variations, gas kinematics, and nuclear environments. CSST-IFS will exploit stable space-based imaging and high angular resolution to resolve physical structures that are blended in ground-based observations, with applications ranging from galactic nuclei and black-hole dynamics to compact star-forming and feedback regions. CUBWISE will combine large collecting area, wide field of view, and strong blue sensitivity to explore weak diagnostic lines, diffuse ionized gas, outer disks, and other low-surface-brightness structures. Together, these facilities will broaden the accessible parameter space of spatially resolved spectroscopy and support a wide range of studies of galaxy evolution.
报告人简介:
Dr. Lei Hao is a Professor at the Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Her research focuses on galaxy evolution, supermassive black holes, and spatially resolved spectroscopy. She serves as the Science Lead of the Integral Field Spectrograph onboard the China Space Station Telescope (CSST-IFS) and is the Principal Investigator of CHILI, the first integral field spectrograph developed in China for nighttime astronomical observations. She is also leading the development of CUBWISE, a next-generation, blue-optimized wide-field integral field spectrograph proposed for China’s future 14.5-m optical/infrared telescope. Her work bridges astrophysical research and the development of advanced spectroscopic instrumentation.
